As I reflect on the past year I am amazed by all I have learnt and accomplished. My goals for photography for 2012 were as follows:
- make business cards: completed April 2011
- create a physical portfolio: I have been busy throughout the year printing various prints and hanging a variety of them throughout my home
- complete a photography course: I have completed a variety of online course on editing and in class courses including a food workshop
This being said the last couple of months due to health related factors I haven’t been able to invest as much as I would like into my photography, nothing too serious but enough to affect my energy levels and cause some memory issues, headaches etc. Out of this experience I learnt just how important photography is to me. My motto is ‘capturing the beauty of a moment’ and photographs that I have taken in the past have honestly helped to trigger some of the memories that I might have otherwise forgotten. This is one of the reasons why I am proposing a new year’s challenge
52 week photography challenge
I miss taking photos, I miss the moments captured, I miss the challenges and learning opportunities. I am determined to start 2013 on the right foot so I am completing a 52 week photography challenge. I have gotten where I am from learning from others so I am also challenging you to share in this adventure. Perhaps photography is something new, or maybe its a hobby or perhaps it is something more, whatever the case may be for you, this is an opportunity where we can all learn, share and grow together.
At the beginning of each week I will post the weeks challenge on my facebook fan page with some helpful tips and settings on how to best capture the weekly challenge. I will share my image and have changed the settings on facebook to allow for you to post your pictures. I think it will be neat to see everyone’s take on the weekly challenge and perhaps inspire us all for the future weekly challenges.
Week 1 of 2013 52 week challenge will be ’52 steps from your front door’ I’ll provide some helpful tips as the time is getting closer
I look forward to sharing the next year with you 🙂
